Caramel coated rice pudding

You can do different desserts with rice, follow this recipe of a delicious dessert.

½ cup sushi rice, Verde Valle®

¼ cup sugar

3 cups milk

½ vanilla bean

¾ cup whipped cream

¼ teaspoon salt

2 yolks

1 pinch cinnamon powder


For the rice:

PREHEAT oven at 180°C. Place milk, rice and vanilla in a pot over low heat and cover when milk starts boiling. Move constantly until rice gets soft and milk evaporates. Take away from heat and take out the vanilla pod.

BEAT cream with sugar, salt, yolks and cinnamon; add rice to the pot and take it again to heat until everything integrates and get dense.

To serve:

POUR in 6 individual containers. Place on a tray with hot water as double boiler.

BAKE for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and let it cool. Sprinkle the rest of the sugar and brown it with a blowtorch. You can also take it in the oven on the top part to obtain a similar result.
